Party Under the Palms
In 2020, La Palmera reached a milestone - 50 years - but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the planned celebration with public events was canceled. So instead, in 2021, a six-month series of free public events called Party Under the Palms was developed as a way to welcome the public back to La Palmera following months of lockdowns and uncertainty. The program was a huge success, providing free entertainment and a welcome change from lockdowns as hundreds of local residents attended and took part in the events, eager for a return to some semblance of "normalcy" and to spend time together with others. Running May through October, events included Pachanga night, two movie events, a scavenger hunt, Oktoberfest, and a Dia de los Muertos Celebration.
